The good kind of downtime.
Cabin comforts, with the details that make them easy to enjoy.
UNDER THE TREES
Your private hot tub
Use the hot tub towels by the sliding glass door. Wipe your feet before entering, keep soaps and bubble products out, and replace the cover when finished. Do not force the jet knobs.
Follow the labeled bottle and booking instructions for after-use chlorine care. The bottle is stored under the kitchen sink.
Weekly service usually takes less than fifteen minutes. Allow at least thirty minutes after routine service or four to five hours after a water change; follow the technician’s instructions.
Supervise children around the tub and follow all posted safety guidance. If the display or temperature seems wrong, message us before adjusting equipment.
GATHER UNDER COVER
Dinner with a forest view.
Settle into the covered, screened dining space for meals in the fresh mountain air. The private deck offers more places to sit and enjoy the trees.
Inside the garage, the 600-square-foot Bear Cave has air hockey, foosball, table tennis and a 55-inch smart TV.
The game garage is not climate-controlled: expect warm summer days and chilly winter evenings.

Primary bedroom: queen bed, smart TV, ceiling fan and en-suite bathroom.
Bedroom 2: queen bed and ceiling fan.
Bedroom 3: full bed and twin-over-twin bunk beds, with a seating nook.

The oversized island offers room for meal preparation or remote work. Gather at the dining table or in the covered screened outdoor dining area.
Heating, A/C & fireplace
The ductless heating and cooling units use the white controllers on the room walls. Set all units to the same mode and keep temperatures between 70°F and 80°F. Mode changes may take a minute or two.
The wood-burning fireplace should only be used by guests familiar with its operation. Keep objects clear of it; burn only wood logs, wood kindling and paper. Keep the door firmly closed between adding wood. Firewood is not provided.
See the house videos or contact us for assistance.

Burn Ban Status — Lewis County and air-quality burning restrictions: check before lighting a fire. Do not burn during an applicable burn ban.
Campfires are allowed in the designated outdoor fire pits.
- Fires must remain inside the designated fire pit at all times.
- Keep fires at a safe, manageable size.
- Completely extinguish the fire before going inside for the night, leaving the property, or going to bed.
Fireworks are strictly prohibited at all times.

RIGHT OUTSIDE
Your quiet
Packwood retreat.
Cowlitz Vista sits on more than an acre in a gated community of cabins and vacation homes. Your home and its outdoor spaces are private.
A shared community trail with river access is a few blocks away. Stay on the community trail, respect private property and supervise children near the river.
Observe the neighborhood’s 10-mph speed limit and keep dogs leashed. Roads are maintained and plowed in winter; check conditions before driving to the pass.
04 / EXPLORE PACKWOOD
Your gateway to mountain days.
Local favorites, forest trails and winter adventures around Packwood, Mount Rainier and White Pass.
Packwood Lake

Snow days on the mountain
Plan skiing, snowboarding or a Nordic outing at White Pass. Check the current operating schedule, snow report and activity availability before booking; tubing plans can change by season.
Silver Falls & Ohanapecosh
Check access carefully: Ohanapecosh’s developed area and campground trailheads are closed for construction in 2026. NPS lists alternate Silver Falls access from the Grove parking area; the Grove of the Patriarchs trail itself remains closed.
Cruiser’s Pizza
Our host’s favorite pizza stop in Packwood. Check the menu and current hours before heading into town.
Packwood Brewing Co.
A host-recommended stop for local craft beer and a bite to eat after a mountain day. See the current food and drink menu.

Stock the kitchen, prepare a meal together and gather in the screened outdoor dining area. The BBQ offers another option.
Blanton’s Market
Pick up groceries and supplies in town before settling into the cabin or heading out for the day.
Mount Rainier roads & entry
From Packwood, park access depends on the season. Check Stevens Canyon Road and SR 123 before choosing a route, and review current park-entry requirements.
White Pass conditions
Check the resort’s snow report and road information before leaving. Allow extra travel time in winter and follow posted traction requirements.
Park passes & fees
Review current entrance fees and passes, then check alerts for closures that could affect your day.
